I have to say… I’ve had crazy dreams lately. I don’t exactly remember the one from last night, other than the fact that is was off the wall. Two nights ago, though, I dreamed that I was back in my college dorm room. My RA knocked on my door and said his room had been broken into and was wondering if the same had happened to me. I said that it hadn’t and then followed him back to his room to look around. I poked my head into his door and saw everything thrown about and popcorn all over the floor. I said something that I don’t remember, then turned away and walked back to my room. When I got there, all of my stuff had been looked through and turned over. Again, there was popcorn all over the floor. My guitar had been smashed. My computer monitor was stolen (but not the laptop connected to it). And on the left wall of the room, there was what I understood to by my fireplace / clothes dryer. It was turned on and spinning (imagine a normal dryer drum turning over and over, and hanging above an open flame in a large fireplace) and it was spewing out more popcorn. I don’t remember being thrown off by any of it. I just kind of rolled with it.

And that’s all I remember.

Weekend

I really have nothing to add after this weekend. I spent my Saturday at a pool party / barbeque cookout contest / basketball tournament / swimsuit contest at one of the leasing properties that Mary Beth’s employer owns. It was a good time and I was definitely the palest person there, if you know what I mean. The food was awesome, and I couldn’t have asked for better company.

Sunday I was up early for practice at Trinity, then Sunday School where we talked about the ‘ultimate worship experience’, and then the contact service, where Dave talked about Priests and Leviticus and stuff like that. After, Mary Beth went to work (again… it’s been like 8 days in a row now for her without a break) and I went home and did a little work around the apartment. Then nap time. Then food time. Then movie time. Then bed time.

Where did the weekend go? There you have it.

I Will Tell The World

Time to attempt a more lengthy entry.

Music is a really important part of my life. It’s probably a really important part of a lot of peoples lives. Take for example how defensive people get over “their” music. I mean, I know that if I really like a song, tell someone to listen to it, and then they come back and say that it sucks, I take it almost as a personal insult. And it’s worse if it’s your best friend or spouse or something. I think I have a good respect for music. Everything has it’s merits. Even those popular radio tunes (read: Gaga) are the product of both individual talent and excellent producing. They’re popular for a reason, and some of those songs are dang catchy.

I do have a confession to make, though. I have a guilty pleasure genre. I absolutely love pop music. I find all of those songs that have the same chord progression, mediocre (or even stupid) lyrics, and predictable structure to be just plain awesome. Judge me all you want, but it’s not going to make a difference. The Backstreet Boys will always have a special place in my iTunes. And my heart.

Okay this is terrible… I laughed when I just saw this, and then realized what it was for.

That’s enough. I’d say longer post than normal.

I Sneeze All The Time

I tend to sneeze all the time. I wasn’t always this way. But I am now. Only at work, though. Hmm… possibly a work allergy? Allergic to work?

Cold Coffee

Even if I let my coffee sit out long enough to get cold, I’ll drink it. Not sure why, though, because it’s terrible. I could just as easily carry it down to the kitchen and empty it out in the sink, then get a nice hot refill. But I don’t do that. No, I drink it, however much is left.

I really like using commas. Probably to the point of being horribly incorrect in their use. I’m okay with that, and I’d appreciate it if you’d just let it slide.

We’ve been getting the phantom rain lately.

Not Your Average F-150

Well there you go. Looks like I’m getting into the habit of this blogging thing. Of course, I’m sure it will never amount to anything worth reading, but at least it’ll give me something to burn the time with.

I’m pretty sure I’ve said things like this before, but I really can’t stand folks who take themselves too seriously. It’s one thing to be a professional and to respect the workplace, but it’s a completely different thing when you don’t smile, purposefully intimidate people, and generally think that what you’re doing is absolutely more important than what everyone else is working on. And in my experience, they’ve all driven large, overly expensive, Ford trucks. That’s all I’m saying.

Thankfully I haven’t experience that type of person here yet. There are definitely people who are… let’s say… a little over the top, but no one who’s only goal seems to make you feel small and insignificant.

The surface of my ‘desk’ here at work is solid black… so even the smallest speck of dust shows up. Let me clarify: it’s not even a desk. It’s a work bench. Better yet, it’s a counter top.
